June 2012 FFL was blessed to have had twenty Kuranda beds (plus fleece pads) donated by the Bissel Foundation so that each dog in the kennel building could have a soft bed off of a cold floor. Due to the size of their kennel, Jazzy and Tucker (best buds) have to share one, but they don't mind a bit! Jazzy was found scavenging for food and ready to deliver in November of 2004. She had 3 fuzzy male puppies the next day in a run at the county pound. They were all facing euthanasia 5 days later, but the director at that time called and asked if FFL wanted them, and of course we went immediately and got them. We named her Jasmine and her puppies Alvin, Simon, and Theodore (all adopted by ten weeks and on our Happy Tails section). She was a very good momma and kept her puppies roly-poly, but she herself was a very picky eater; we tried feeding her everything to get her to eat! She is very protective of her area as Chows typically are, and is more suspicious of men. She is a very sweet girl and is a runner if she is allowed to be loose. (She also can be a determined digger!) She shares her living area with several other dogs and is ok with cats. She is between 10 and 11 years old and is spayed and microchipped and weighs about 40 lbs.
