June 2012- Ahhhh! Holly likes her new Kuranda bed, one of twenty donated by the Bissel Foundation. Having only three legs- and arthritis in her only front leg- she enjoys that soft fleece cover, too (you can tell just by looking at her face!). Thank you so much to the Bissel Foundation! Holly was born in 11/98 and is Emma's "pup" (Emma is also on our pet list). Holly has a solid creamy white, dense coat and slanty brown eyes. She is 56 lbs., and is crate-trained and very gentle with people. She lost a front leg when she was two years old, and now has arthritis in the elbow joint. She is on MoveFree and Rimadyl, and she's also had laser treatments to the elbow, which we hope are making her more comfortable. UPDATE August 20, 2012: Holly has been on Baytril for two weeks for a bladder infection. Her follow-up on the 17th with ultrasound showed she still has "sludge" in her bladder. She'll go back to the vet today (20th) and also begin another series of laser treatments for her elbow. If you can help with her recent expenses, please contact us. Your help will be much appreciated! Because of her age and because she is a Special Needs dog, she is available also as a Sponsor Dog. Holly visited the vet on Jan. 04, 2011 for an exam and bloodwork, which was normal, but she needed a dental. On Feb. 17th, 2011, Gerry sponsored Holly's dental, and only one tooth needed extracting. Thank you so much, Gerry! If you would like to sponsor Holly on a monthly basis, please see our Home Page/Sponsor Program for more information.
