Additional information
DOB: 8/2014 Weight: 60 lbsAlfie is a typical border collie mix and will need an active home. He is very sweet and loving and good around children. He is choosy about other dogs but does not do well with small animals and cats. He is extremely smart and will need mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. Border Collies are great dogs but they are working dogs and without a job or activity to keep them busy they can get into trouble. He can be stubborn, so he needs to know what is expected of him. Consistency is key.Alfie has tested positive for heartworms. We would love to find him a foster home where he can go through a three month treatment to kill the worms. We can supply a crate, leash and collar and provide the treatment which requires Alfie to be relatively quiet while going through the program. He has a great future ahead of him if someone can help him get through the next few months! Can you help Alfie? He is selective with other dogs so a meet and greet would be ideal. He has been neutered, up to date on shots, wormed and micrchipped. He tested positive for heartworms and will soon go through treatment as soon as we find a foster home. He came to the shelter 7/17.Our adoption fee is $130.00 and it helps to cover a portion of the dog's vetting costs.
