Meet Honey! She got her name because of her beautiful amber eyes and because she is so sweet! Honey is a Brindle and White female Pitt bull girl (the vet thinks she has some hound in there looking at her feet, longer torso and snout maybe Bassett). At 49 lbs, she is a beautiful, healthy girl who is approximately 1 year old and still has a lot of pup in her. Honey is up to date on all her vaccinations, is spayed (she has had pups in the past), and is heartworm negative. She will need to continue receiving monthly heartworm preventative.Honey was out on the streets for a few weeks and successfully eluded efforts to catch her. Hunger led her to seek out a bowl of food and she was finally safe and in a nurturing environment. She is housetrained and will wait to go outside to take care of business. She is a very friendly and loving girl, and she loves to run and play. She loves to go for long walks on a leash and needs a family who will be willing to spend time with her taking her out daily. She has cute ears that lay back and flop like angel wings when she is walking! She gets along well with other dogs and wants to play with everyone and every dog she meets. Honey would be a great additional dog and do well with a family with kids to play with her and cuddle with her.Honey is an indoor dog. She is a quiet girl and rarely will give only a single bark for attention. She loves to cuddle up and be scratched top to bottom, head to toe! She loves tummy rubs and will often roll over on walks for a quick tummy rub. She is so playful. One of her favourite places is a small hill where she will roll over on her back and wiggle downhill head first to the bottom. She thinks this is great fun! Honey loves to lay down beside you and put her head on your knee and be close by you. She will sit next to you and gently press against you; she loves to be close. She would make a great snuggle buddy at night. She tries so hard to please and just wants to be loved and held. She will pay you back with kisses and smiles.Honey loves to chase squirrels and cats! Not sure how she would treat them if she got close enough to catch one. I dont think she would hurt one. She is a young girl and still has a lot of puppy feelings in her and needs someone who is an active family. A large back yard would be ideal for her to run around in. She loves to retrieve and chase balls. She is currently on a diet of Natural Choice dry food, but enjoys a Milk Bone, Beggin' Strips Dog Snacks or Purina Busy Bone now and then for a treat. The ideal situation for her would be a family where someone is home during the day to let her out in the backyard and perhaps another dog to play with. She is very social! Honey is seeking a family for life and promises to love you all of hers.If you are interested in sweet Honey, please fill out our PreAdoption Application.
