Charlie has been with me for almost a month now and he’s blossomed so much in that time. He was rescued from a home with 40 toy dogs in it and wasn’t used to being outside at all. When I first got him, he was scared of everything and spent most of the day hiding out under a pile of blankets. Today, he is so much more active and enjoys chewing on sticks outside. He loves to scamper around the house and follow you around, greeting you happily when you walk by. He loves my other dog in the house and will often lick him or sleep near him. Charlie has a great personality and becomes really attached to whoever is taking care of him. His favorite way of showing affection is to dash into your lap and lick your fingers until you pet him. He makes the cutest noises when he’s happy and will give little snorts when he’s falling asleep (though is quiet once he is asleep). Charlie still loves blankets and will often bury himself underneath his bed pillow in order to have the maximum amount of weight on top of him.He is definitely wary of strangers but we’re working on getting him accustomed to other people. When you first meet him, he most likely won’t show much affection but guaranteed within a week he’ll be all over you! He’d be great for a family either with older children or for someone with no kids at all. He does fine with kids but really isn’t a fan of people tugging on him. This goes for dogs as well. He adores calm dogs but dogs that constantly bug him are not his cup of tea. He has not been around cats before.Charlie is doing great with training. He’s learned come rather enthusiastically and is working on sit (he gets so excited for a treat it’s hard to get him to sit still!!). At his old home he was trained on a pee pad but we have successfully moved him to being potty trained and able to go outside. He hasn’t had any issues with this. Charlie is also fully crate trained (in the house and in the car) and will sleep away happily once inside. Charlie is not much of a barker. The only times he barks is if an unknown person comes near him. If you tell him “enh enh”, he will stop barking. Otherwise he is completely quiet all day.Fill out an application for Charlie today to become his forever family!
