Meet Meeka, a beautiful, loving and tiny (7.6 lbs.) Chinese Crested! She is completely hairless except for a small tuft of hair upon her head, tip of her tail and tops of her paws. Meeka is a timid girl but warms up very quickly and eventually loves everyone she meets. She is flourishing being in a loving and secure home and everyday her wonderful personality is emerging. Typical of her breed, she is a velcro-dog and will follow you throughout the day. She will curl up on her dog bed wherever you are and will be in your lap at every opportunity. Meeka would need a family where someone was home often(a retiree, stay-at-home parent, split- shift family, or someone who works from home or part-time would be ideal). At night she makes a nest of her blanket at the bottom of the bed and sleeps soundly all night long. Meeka's foster family is working on her socialization and she is doing very well. She barks very little, just when someone walks by the house or comes to the door. She is not destructive in the home and is completely house-trained. Meeka also has a playful side once she warms up, and loves her ball. Meeka has lived with dogs and cats in the past and does fine with them. She is submissive and would not do well in a home with a dominant dog who would bully her due to her submissiveness. She has also lived with children and is being fostered in a home with children. A quieter home would be best. Meeka travels well in the car, she just curls up and sleeps most of the time or quietly looks out the window. Meeka requires very little exercise, play-time in the yard or a short leisurely walk and she is ready to curl up and sleep again. She is a little lady and is very cooperative when dressing her, she becomes very excited as she know clothes mean outside time! Meeka was vetted on April 18th and is healthy and up-to-date on her vaccinations(due for distemper booster May 18), negative for Heartworm(presently on interceptor) Lyme, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia. She has an adoption fee of $100.00 to cover her vetting costs and comes with 6 months of Interceptor. Meeka is not spayed and the adopter would be responsible for her spay.
