Aroooooo! Hi! My name is Schwebo, but my foster mama and dad call me Bowie for short. Im a 6-year-old beautiful beagle/basset mix. Dad says that Im a classic tri color and my fur shines with highlights in the sun. My fur is super soft and I have long, soft ears. Even though Im six, I dont act that way. Im fit and trim at about 35 lbs., and I easily walk 1-2 miles at a time. Im also very active around the house. However, I do love to snuggle and follow humans around. There is nothing like hanging out with the people, watching T.V., and getting pet! Its a doggy dream come true. I came from a shelter in Missouri and it seems as if I had a family, but they never came to claim me at the shelter, so Midwest BREW swooped in and rescued me. My foster mama says that Im really good in the house; I know how to use the stairs, and I potty in the backyard even though Im not really good at telling people that I need to go yet. I love to snuggle on a blanket on the floor at night, or Ill jump into bed if I get invited. Laundry baskets full of clothes are also one of my favorite places to hang out. They are so comfy and the clothes smell like Mom and Dad. Walks are the best things ever, but I need to work on my manners because I pull. My foster mama bought one of those special harnesses and Im doing a little better. I also like to counter surf a bit when something smells really tasty, so you have to be careful about leaving food near the counter edges. I seem to have a gift for finding mischief, but I'm not destructive and I dont chew. I just take interesting items such as newspapers, shoes, and pencils for walks. Even though Im active and love to snuggle, I dont seem to know how to play doggy games such as playing with ropes. I investigate the doggy toy boxes and look for bones because they are fun to chew. I also love to run around the backyard and roll in the grass when it has just been mowed. I havent been exposed to any kids yet, so we need to see about that though the volunteers at Midwest BREW think there might have been kids in my prior home. I have a rusty sounding bark that makes Mom laugh, but I dont use it much, so I think Id be fine in a condo or apartment. Id be OK without a yard too since I potty really well on a leash and I love to go out. All my foster mama needs to do is get the leash and I come running. Ill go as often as you want, so Id be a great walking buddy. Even though I have 2 foster brothers and a foster sister, my foster mama thinks Id be fine as an only dog.
