Austria is a female Cairn Terrier, approximately 1 year old. She is a petite girl with a big heart with lots of love to give. She has come out of her shell but is still a little shy and will need a family that will give her the needed time to adjust. Where Did Austria Come From?
Austria came from a shelter in Pennsylvania where she arrived as a stray. She has done very well with going from living as a stray to living in a foster home with other dogs. When she first arrived in her foster home, she would hide under a cabinet in the dinning room and watch what went on. Over time, she got more comfortable and now interacts with the other canines in the home. I Love Attention!
Austria loves to get attention, especially sitting in your lap or lying with you on the couch. She is so cute when she taps you with her paw to let you know that she wants more attention. She does freak out when you blow on her but not in a bad way. She rolls over throws her paws in the air and wiggles around. I Love Walks and Riding in the Car!
Austria loves to go on walks and is somewhat of a fast walker for her size. She also loves going for car rides and now expects a ride after her walks in the evenings. I Am Working on My HouseTraining.
Austria is working on her housetraining with the help of her foster parents and is doing well. I Fear Crates.
Austria is very fearful of being crated for long periods of time. She has adjusted to being fed in her crate (because she is a slow eater), but then needs to be let out when done. She is fed in the crate because she guards her food from her humans, but will let the other dogs push her away from her food dish and eat her food. She does not need to be crated during the day, however, as she is not destructive and does not chew things that are not hers and stays out of trouble when by herself. My Ideal Home.
The perfect forever home for Austria would be with a family that will give her time to adjust to her new surroundings and not rush her in doing this. In addition, CRUSA will NOT consider any homes for Austria with young children that live in the home or that visit the home. I Am Up To Date.
Austria is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, has been tested for heartworm disease, is on a monthly heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Where is Austria Now?
Austria is located in a private home in Aberdeen, Maryland.
