Additional information
Frankie (full name Francesca) is a fantastic, sweet, funny girl! She is about 4 years old and is completely house-trained and and is also crate-trained. She is friendly, inquisitive, and smart. She is an active girl who likes to play, but she is also happy to receive snuggles while being a couch potato. We are not 100% sure of her breeds, but she is likely a mix of bull breeds. About three years ago, Frankie was rescued from the county shelter (after being in adoption for a month without an adopter), but she fit in so well that her foster family decided to keep her. Frankie is being re-homed due to divorce and Frankie's owner feeling she won't have enough time for Frankie when they move to new boyfriend's house, so we are hoping to place Frankie in a home where she will get the time and love she deserves. Frankie has done really well with kids from ages 2 years and up. She has lived with and spent a lot of time with young kids. She can be a little too exuberant at first with the little ones, but she settles down pretty quickly and has been very tolerant of the young, active kids she lives with. Frankie lived harmoniously with many indoor cats in the past three years. She played with her housemate cats like they were dogs. She was respectful of the cats but would sometimes bark when a cat gave her a swat to say they'd had enough. She has a different relationship with outdoor cats she doesn't know and will chase them out of the yard. Frankie has lived with big dogs and little dogs, both male and female. She loves to play with other dogs and has respected the correction of other dogs when they "tell her" she's playing too hard. Frankie does get excited when she meets new dogs, so slow introductions work best to help ensure a good match.Frankie has not interacted up close and off leash with horses and cows, but when she's met them from a respectful distance on leash, she was pretty uninterested and non-reactive. Frankie knows the commands "sit" and "down" and "off." She hasn't had a lot of leash walking, so she needs a little brush-up on her leash manners. She weighs about 58 lbs. Frankie is spayed, microchipped, current on shots, licensed and on heartworm prevention. She had heartworm disease (successfully treated with full recovery) a couple of years ago due to missing doses of HW prevention, so keeping up on heartworm preventative is a must. Adoption contract, screening and home safety check apply.
