UPDATE: Duchess is now in her furever home! Richard and Dottie....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!Please meet Duchess. Duch was brought to us by a local Animal Control Officer, as he knew she is special, and would receive loving care here. And so it has been so....but with changing circumstances for the Rescue, Duchess will be re-homed. There is so much to tell about Duch - she's been here long enough so we know her tendencies to a "tee." For example - Duch is very food motivated, and easily learns new commands with just a few pieces of kibble. She is prone to choose a handy couch, stretch out, and fall fast asleep. When you go to another room, Duch needs to see what you're up to...she thinks she might miss something if she's not watching closely. She is housebroken, and will usually whine a bit and pace when she needs to go out. She's no outdoor dog by any means, so once her duty is done, she wants to come back inside. She crates very well, and is content to flake out in a crate if need be. Her age is estimated to be around 6, and her tummy shows evidence of having been used for breeding as a young girl. Face it - with time and gravity, "things droop." There are 3 guarantees we can make on behalf of Duchess:1. She will sleep in bed with you, just as close as possible, and with her head on your pillow if possible. 2. She snores! Loudly, sometimes!3. Unless she's under the weather for some reason, she never, never misses a meal. We have no cats or children around here, so she is untested with either. If you would like to know more about Duch, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Duch will not be adopted out of State, nor more than 150 miles from Durham, NC. Thank you for taking a look!
