Dash is a gentle soul looking for someone to help him get his mojo back. At 6 years of age, it seems that his previous owners did not treat him kindly. It takes him a while to trust, and he is easily set back by a loud voice or perceived reprimand. He is also frightened by thunder & lightening and is extremely camera shy (as you can see by his pix). His response of choice is to retreat under a table, into a closet or into a car (if he can gain access.)
When treated kindly, he enjoys being with his person and loves to run or walk with them. He knows sit, down, stays close by his person on walks and comes promptly when called. He is completely housebroken and knows how to use a dog door. He loves to cuddle on the couch or bed, but waits for an invitation.
He enjoys the company of other dogs, but would not do well with a bossy or pushy dog. He loves chewing on nylabones and would probably chase and fetch balls as long as he was sure they were his to fetch. He is motivated by food and affection and loves to train and learn new things.
Weighing in at ~50# he is most likely a cattle dog mix, and may have some Doberman and/or shepherd genes as well. He is in excellent health and has a lot of years and love to give.
