About Indie: Indie lived with her family for 11 years until the son left for college and the family decided they did not have enough time for a dog. She's a terrific pup. Described as friendly, easygoing, gentle, playful, and quiet, she can also be a bit shy in new situations. Given a chance to get acquainted, she soon warms up and is a total sweetheart. Indie reportedly gets along with kids, other dogs, and cats although she will chase cats outdoors. She loves to go on walks and to chase tennis balls. Although she is a Labrador retriever, she does not like water. She did well however when she was given a bath at the shelter. Indy's coat is shiny and black. She has a cyst on the side of her face. The shelter is making arrangements to have that removed. It is not a cancerous growth and should not cause any further problems after it is removed. She may also have a bit of arthritis in her hips, a situation not uncommon in dogs of her age. Come on in and meet this gentle soul.
