Please meet Cleo, an adorable, very affectionate 4-5-year old Rat Terrier girl who weighs an ideal 8.5 pounds. She was rescued from the Harnett County Animal Shelter on Tuesday July 19th. She still is in quarantine, so we are not sure how she behaves around other dogs or cats. She typically needs 2 days to warm up to a new situation. Over the weekend she was exposed to two labs, and while scared of them the first day, she warmed up quickly and even took a nap 5 feet away from them. She also was around a nursing cat that we rescued from the same shelter, and she was just plain interested, but of course the mama cat was no threat to her since she was busy nursing her 7 babies. She is very good with kids, allows them to pick her up and never snapped after them. She is a very happy girl with a tail that never stops wagging and would love to find a lab where she can snuggle most of the time. She loves to be close to her human friends, is curious but a little skiddish . Cleo was seen by a Vet where she was treated for Hookworms and got vaccinated against Rabies. We are now looking for that special person that will be able to put up with her disease and see beyond her (reversible!) health issues. Cleo is a truly adorable, loving girl that has so much to give and still many happy years to live. Would you consider being her hero? Please help us to find her the perfect home.
