Breed:Terrier / Cairn Terrier

Samantha is a sweet little terrier-partly Cairn and mostly pure SUGAR! Having adopted a little "Terroristic Terrier" myself-2 years ago....I can truly attest to what a wonderful personality and demeanor Sam has! (She makes my little Terrier look like a thug. :-) She was left by very irresponsible "owners" to 1. Get knocked up by a much larger daddy dog and 2. dumped at a very high kill shelter with 9 babies on board to be stressed out and give birth on the cold and filthy floors. Well, when we arrived to get her and saw her belly extending as wide as her body is long, we were pretty sure that without a rescue pulling her in time, she would not have survived this delivery, let alone the babies. And sadly, no amount of puppy midwifery would help....those pups were just too big as as Sam labored for almost 48 hours, she began to give up and we rushed her to the vet where she had a c section and 8 babies were pulled from her tummy. And, just in the nick of time! Sadly, two more passed within days of making it home, but her 6 surviving bundles of furry joy are the apple of everyone's eyes! AND, they all got mommy's personality....they are demure and sweet and love to be held. And our hero, Sam, came through the surgery with so much grace and strength-you would not have known the trauma she had endured to bring them here. She accepted the additional bottle feeding and human fussing with many warm kisses and gratitude. She seemed to know this definitely "took a village"! And as they grew, we could see that she is so young herself and really only a puppy at heart! Ready and waiting to find a family to call her very own.She weighs about 13 lbs. and gets along very well with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Cats are a mystery to her and she would like to chase them , but is easily called off...since she aims to please her humans more than anything else on earth.Sam comes spayed, all shots current and microchipped. She is house trained, but still may need a little encouragement and patience as she become used to a new house. She also responds very well to crate training and is happy to go inside and sleep or just rest during the day.If you have a space in your home, family and heart for a very special girl-please contact Wendy about Sam....You won't be sad that you did. After all.....everyone needs to be rescued sometime.....Sam is fostered in Encinitas, CA and you can contact Wendy at 310-922-4936 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Her adoption fee is $200 and all proceeds will go towards her c section surgery for those that may want to donate to her cause. Thank you for reading her story!
