Name: Toby DOB: September 2009 Breed: Saluki mix possibly mixed with Australian Shepherd Coloring/Weight: Toby is one of 2 mostly whitish/crme colored pups with one blue eye and one brown eye. Rescue Story: Toby and his 3 brothers were rescued from a hoarding situation in Mojave Desert. Many of the dogs were living in filthy and cramped conditions. When rescuers were alerted on the situation, we quickly jumped in to save this beautiful and sweet litter. They have been with us in rescue recovering from the emotional and physical damage the situation had on them. Since being rescued, Toby and his brothers past was quickly forgotten once they got into a loving foster home. They are now flourishing and ready to find their forever families. Personality: Despite the rough start that these kids had in life, they are shy and reserved at first but sweet and affectionate once they get to know and trust you. Toby is the most complaisant of the crew, yet the most curious. When he finds something interesting, he will cock his head and put one ear up and one ear down with this adorable look of being perplexed. He is also just like his siblings in that he is quiet and kind natured. These kids have not been very socialized as young pups, but are definitely eager to learn whats out there. Dogparks, car rides, hikes, walks on leashes are things that these pups would love and welcome but have not had much experience with thus far. They may seem shy and afraid of the world, but with love and patience these boys will be giddy and funloving in no time! All of these little boys do not have one mean or aggressive bone in their body in fact you can pretty much pick them up, pet them, kiss them, turn them on their back for a belly rub, and do anything to them and theyll just comply. All of them have submissive, kind natured personalities. Training: Crate Trained, will need working on how to walk on a leash as well as reinforcement in the housebreaking department as they are still puppies. Medical: Neutered, currently vaccinated, and microchipped. Would do best: Toby would be most successful in a house/yard situation versus an apartment. He could be in a home as a companion to another doggie to play and snuggle with OR as an only pet that was given plenty of walks, outings, and social time. These pups have been together with their siblings since puppies so they are all very bonded each would make an excellent companion to an already existing family pet. Cats/Dogs/Kids: Cats, Dogs, and Kids are all OK! They do not currently live with a cat or little ones, but due to their sweet nature these pups could not hurt a fly.
