Blaze came to us from a shelter in Indy where he ended up after being confiscated when someone intentionally broke his front leg. Unfortunately, his leg was not repairable and had to be amputated. Having three legs doesn't slow him down, in fact, he is as fast as the other dogs at the doggy day care where he is being fostered and he can tear it up with the best of them. Blaze is SUPER social, loves everyone he meets, wiggles himself silly. He has puppy energy that quickly subsides once outside his kennel for a little while and he will even settle down on the floor next to someone. Once Blazes leg was healed, he went through the mandatory temperament testing at the shelter and did not pass due to food guarding issues. Normally, he would have been euthanized since he was not able to pass the temperament test and the they do not have the manpower or resources needed to work with him to overcome his issues so that is where we came in. We are working with Blaze every day to help him overcome his issues and he has made huge improvements when it comes to his food and toys. Since he is being fostered at the doggy day care and has many other dogs around at all times, he is learning to share. Blaze is the kind of dog who, after all the horrendous things that were done to him at the hands of humans, still loves and trusts people. He deserves a chance to be the great dog we know he can be. Because of his food guarding, Blaze will need to go to a home where there are no toddlers. Blaze is estimated to be about 10 months old. Blaze is neutered, UTD with vaccines, microchipped and his adoption fee is $200.
