Peanut has been with us for a number of years. She had been passed from home to home for reasons unapparent because she's never been a problem for us. We decided she wasn't going anywhere else after being bounced around. Her favorite place to sleep is in a pile of clean, folded clothes- after she's "rearranged" them to suit herself! We frequently find her hidden in a blanket when the weather's cooler. She is an excellent watchdog, and even at her age has "bionic" hearing still! She is small enough to get through the rails on the stairs and sneaks up to grab what she can of the cats' food before someone figures out where she is..... and she's an excellent mouser! UPDATE October 1st: Peanut had bloodwork (normal) and a much-needed dental on Sept. 24th, 2010. She had three teeth pulled and was on metacam for pain for 5 days, plus she began Clindamycin on the 21st and will continue that antibiotic for two full weeks. Thank you, Gerry, for sponsoring her medical care! UPDATE Feb. 17, 2011: An eye exam today revealed an ulcer in Peanut's left eye. The vet drew blood for a serum that we are putting into her eye every 4 hours, then using an antibiotic ointment, plus Puralub, a lubricant. As of today (Feb. 21st), she is no longer squinting but the eyeball is still bloodshot. She's eating well and is active as usual!
