Greyhounds are not guard dogs and are not supposed to bark but Olivers life mission is to let us know of anyone approaching any door. He will sound the alarm but does quiet upon command. Oliver has had some issues with separation anxiety that have been worked through. We find that he is a much more contented dog when not crated while we are gone. He does not get into things and seems happiest going from window to window patrolling his territory. One of Olivers most distinctive attributes is his smile. Whenever he is glad to see someone or if he is getting a treat, his lips pull back and he exposes a good portion of his teeth. When viewed face on this can be a disconcerting event as he has a sparkling white smile. Oliver is a remarkable looking fellow with 4 white feet & a white chest. He has a black face with a small white stripe and about a tail. I would have to guess that he lost part of it by wagging it so much. He is certainly a happy dog with lots of butt-movement and tail wagging when he gets excited. Playing in any form is always cheerfully anticipated. He is eager to please but he does play a little rough. He may be best in a home with older children. (not under 5 years) Oliver graduated from the prison program on October 28, 2010 and knows his voice and hand commands well. He is very food motivated and if there is anything around to eat he will offer every command he knows without being asked. Oliver is the perfect gentleman on leash and walks at the same speed you do or he will follow the movements set by another dog. Oliver is NOT cat safe however he seems to do well with small dogs. He is prey driven and instinct takes over when a small furry critter approaches. He has been on squirrel patrol since the beginning and they tease him mercilessly
