Nellie found my daughter yesterday (5/13/2010) at the barn while my daughter was tending her horse. We know the signs all too well...another puppy dropped on the road. She is thin, but acts very healthy. She also is comfortable in a house, which suggests she has been indoors at one time. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and successfully treated for hook worms. She will probably be about 35 to 40 pounds when fully grown. I believe one of her parents was a pit bull since she was found in an area that has pits running around. I have noticed no aggression toward people, even children, but she can get rowdy with the other dogs in my pack. But she has been put in her place a few times, which causes her to back off. Folks interested in Nellie should have experience with pit bulls and not be afraid to be the pack leader. Nellie will probably try to get the upper hand if allowed the opportunity. We are working on basic obedience (which is going well), chasing and retrieving balls, and crate games. She is excelling at all. A very bright, energetic dog. Please note the precious underbite and one blue eye and one brown eye. She is a winner! We recently "cat tested" Nellie, and she would have nothing to do with the cat! That's a good thing!
