Poindexter is a one year old adult male Boxer/Pit Bull/Lab mix. He is a full grown dog and and he weighs about 55 pounds. Poindexter came to us from the Austin City dog pound. Poindexter adjusted slowly to Shelter life, having some anxiety with the noise issue and the hose and squeegee activity that goes on. But he has really settled in well and we've had him for quite a long time. He is someone possessive of his toys, and lives to play fetch. As you can see from his photos, hes much more at ease outside of the Shelter building. Poindexter would be best-suited to a home that has some experience with large, strong dogs and with someone who is capable of exercising him and providing him a set of rules and behavioral boundaries. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes.
