I am a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix and have had a lot of moving around in my life. My original owner was in her 80s when she purchased me. When she died, the family took me to a shelter where they were going to gas me because I wasn't a puppy, but luckily, a nice lady took me to her rescue to find me a home. While it wasn't a home, I was content there living loose in the rescue home with several other dogs. I kept to myself mostly and just loved to lie on the couch on my favorite pillow and watch the world go by. But then the lady went through some family issues and called and ask Orphans to help me as she was closing up her rescue. Because of my fun personality I am a favorite here, and I am a nice size: not too big, not too small. But still, I have been waiting at Orphans for 2-1/2 years now. At night when the shelter is quiet, I dream of the day when my person comes walking through that door and takes me to my forever home. I would really prefer a home with no other dogs or kids (I was never around kids before), and I need to walk on a harness as I pull and where I was at before pulled and hurt my throat which is healed now. I know it may be challenging to find the right home for me: I admit I can be stubborn if I do not want to do something, but I also can be very affectionate and would like nothing more than to sit on the couch and watch TV with you! If you think you might be my person, please come and meet me! AS A LONG-TERM RESIDENT I AM ELIGIBLE FOR THE SPECIAL $25 PET DISCOUNT!!!
