Hi. My name is Hank. I have a very unusual story and I'm hoping that someone will help me write a happy ending for it. I don't remember much of my life 'before', when I was a mere pup. My first real memory is of not having a home and being on my own. It was a tough life. I was never sure where my next meal would come from, I was kind of scared all by myself, and I was really lonely. One day a human saw me and picked me up in their car and before I knew it....I was tied to a door and left with a note. Fortunately for me, the door belonged to a local veterinarian with a reputation of having a good heart. I heard him talking to the nice lady that found me that morning when she came to work and unlocked the door and she told him the note said "We found this dog running loose." There was no name, phone number, or other information on the note. At least they left me at a good place. And I lived at the vets office for a long time. .
It was ok there at the vet's...they fed me and kept me safe. But at night all the humans would go home and I'd be there all by myself. And I still got lonely. I really longed to find a forever home. I heard the doctor say that he thinks I'm a boxer pit bull mix with maybe some lab. He looked at my nice white teeth and said he thinks I'm around 11 months old. I still have some puppy in me, so my new home will need to have someone around that likes to play. I'm 53 pounds and probably won't get much bigger. He also made sure that I've been neutered, microchipped, and that I'm up to date on all my shots. He did some kind of test on me and was really excited and smiled really big when he patted me on the head and told me I was heartworm negative. Now he gives me a pill every month to make sure I stay that way. I heard the rescue lady say that they would provide 6 months heartworm preventative to my new family.
Luckily TLC was able to fine a foster home for me. It's way better than the clinic was because now I'm not alone at night. It's kind of hard to be lonely in my foster home because my foster mom has 4 other dogs! We get along really well and have a great time playing together but the rescue people think I'd do way better if I had a home without quite so many other dogs. My current foster mom works during the day and it's really hard on her to give us all the attention we want when she comes home every day. Maybe you have time to give me the attention I need???
Won't you help me write my storys final chapter with a happy ending? If you can't adopt me forever, maybe you could foster me until my forever family finds me. That way I won't ever have to be lonely again. It's so much better when I had someone to be with all night. My adoption fee is only $50 and that's such a small price to pay for my eternal gratitude, loyalty, and love. I'm only 3 years old so I have lots and lots of livin to do!
We are a RESCUE ORGANIZATION, therefore, please complete your online Adoption Application which can be found on our website. We require an adoption application, vet reference, and a home visit with the pet. if you have current pets, they must be spayed and/or neutered, current on their vaccinations, and on Heartworm preventative. ALL of our pets are spayed or neutered prior to being Adopted. They are UTD on shots, Heartworm negative, & micro chipped. They must be kept on Heartworm preventative. Our adoption fee varies. Puppies have an increased adoption fee since they need 3 or 4 sets of shots, multiple dewormings, plus other puppy needs to keep them healthy.
