Hi! My name is Timmy! My foster parent calls me "Timmy Tim"I was rescued from an awlful place and awlful people who got pleasure and entertainment out of being mean and cruel to me and other dogs that were there. I have seen some horrific things in my short life and have been lucky enough to live through it. Some other dogs that were there were not so lucky.I lived for 3 years on the end of a short HEAVY logging chain with only dirt to lay on and a cold plastic barrel for a "house" I had to go for days and nights without anything to eat or drink because the people who had me chained up didn't care if I was hungry or thirsty. There were nights where I thought I wouldn't wake up to see the morning due to my health and my condition. I was extremely thin to say the least, very dehydrated, so malnurished that my hair was starting to fall out and my skin was cracking. I was kept chained back in the woods were no one could hear my or the other dogs cry for help. I slept and lived in fear of what might approach me while I was chained and couldn't get away. The mean people would take a dog one by one and lead them to a closed in building with a lot of other mean people and make them fight until one of them was dead. Most of the dogs did not want to fight.... They were scared, hungry, cold, hurt, sick, and just wanted some kind attention.... instead they hit, and punched by the mean people when they would run back to them for comfort or protection and were made to fight for their lifes with the winner (if you want to call it that) to live another misserable day or two until they were faced with death again. There were some dogs at this place that were just used for breeding, some just used for "bait dogs' and some used for their entertainment. The poor dogs that did not want to fight and just flat out refused were shot on the spot and thrown into a ditch or creek.I have a lot scars from this place.... some emotional and some physical. I am scared of other dogs and have never been around cats. I still, believe it or not, LOVE people and would LOVE nothing more than to have a REAL loving forever home. I always dreamed of being part of a family and being loved. One day, just when I thought I couldn't take anymore of this abuse, several cars pulled up with blue flashing lights. The mean people were taken off to jail and me and the other dogs that were left were taken to a local animal shelter. There were about 100 of us left. After we got to the shelter over half of us were put to sleep due to injuries. Of that half, another half were put to sleep due to what they called "aggressiveness towards other dogs" So now, with just 25 of us left.... rescues were called in. I was lucky to still be alive considering the state of my health and my skelatal body. I also had mange, and a fungal skin infection. A lot of rescues came by and took all the "pretty" "young" and "saveable" dogs.... I was still there! Then luckily one rescue came by that wasn't concerned with looks, age, or health problems... They actually wanted the one that no one else wanted... they wanted ME! :D I left that night with Laura and Phillip of Lost But Loved Animal Rescue. I have since gained weight, my hair has grown back, and I never have to sleep in a cold plastic barrell with a heavy logging chain around my neck EVER again!I am now healthy, happy, and ready to find my forever family that for so long I could only dream about! A lot of people look over me because I am not a pretty dog, I have a lot of ugly scars from my previous life with animal abuses. Most people want a dog that has a lot of color and not a solid black one...I have a colorful personality! ;) I promise to give you all the unconditional love that you could ask for plus some! Please just give me a chance! I have come so far and have been given a second chance at life....a good life! Please make my dreams come true! Thank you for considering me! Love, Timmy Tim<p>How can I go about meeting this pet?If you are interested in meeting this pet and are seriously considering adoption, an online adoption application must be filled out prior to setting up an appointment to meet.Application can be filled out atwww.lblrescue.comand then click on the “Dog or Cat Adoption Application” Just takes a couple of minutes to fill out. Please answer all the questions completely, and include numbers where they are asked. Un-answered questions and not enough information may lead to your application process taking a lot longer to complete. This way if you are pre-approved to adopt we can do that adoption at that time as well. The meeting will be done at your house so that a home visit can be done at that time as well. If you live out of town we will be in touch with another rescue group in your town to do the home visit for us, but you would have to drive to Murray, KY for the meeting, which is usually done at a foster home or sometimes the dog park if the weather is nice.
Why do I have to pay an ADOPTION FEE?Adoption Fee of $100.00 is tax de-ductable and you will receive a receipt for your taxes.Adoption Fee is required to cover the following Veterinary care listed below:*Routine physical exams (est. cost $40.00)
*Routine de-worming (est. cost $20.00)
*Routine heartworm testing (est. cost $55.00) (dog)
*Routine monthly heartworm and flea/tick
prevention (est. cost per yr. $200.00)
*Annual Vaccinations (est. cost $75.00)
*Spay or Neuter (est. cost $100.00)
*Microchip implant and registration (est. cost
*Grooming, ear cleaning, bath, and pedicure (est.
*45 days of complimentary Pet Health Insurance
through Shelter Care. (est. cost $60.00)
Good quality pet food (est. cost a yr. $ 240.00)Total estimated cost that we spend on each dog every year is $800.00. That does not include the cost that we incur if the dog is sick when we get it from the shelter, if it has mange, parvo, needs a dental, etc. We are only asking for you to reimburse our rescue $100.00 for the pet that you are adopting so that we can afford to keep saving pets. So, sure you can get a “free” pet or buy one from someone, but has that pet had all of the above done to it? If not, look at what that “free” or $300.00 pet that has had nothing done is going to cost you. Also, are they going to be healthy, or are you taking a chance on getting a sick pet that is going to have to be hospitalized and cost you even more? Things to think about when adding a new member to your family……Also keep in mind that once you adopt, even though we have had everything done that can be done to this pet, you will still need to plan on spending at least $500.00 a year on your new friend. Here is a list of some of the annual expenses every dog owner will have to spend to keep their pet healthy. Keep in mind this is just an estimate and it can be much cheaper or much more depending on what you get done and who does it. Also, once your 45 days of free pet health insurance expires you can renew it for as low as $15.00 a month to cover your pet in case it gets sick or injured which is a great idea, since surgeries and hospital stays are VERY expensive.*Annual Vaccinations*Routine physical exam*Routine de-worming*Routine heartworm and flea/tick prevention*Routine heartworm testing *Good quality dog food
