June 2012-- Alf has been with FFL for over 6 years, and is enjoying his new Kuranda bed, donated by the Bissel Foundation! The photo of him next to the white wall was taken in October 2011; the other photo with the leash on was taken at least three years ago. His guardian's house caught fire in February 2006, and she and many of her animal companions died. Alf survived only because he was tied outside. He's a good dog but has the temperament to be a stinker (like when the vet is drawing blood). He was born in 1994, and is in wonderful shape for a 17-year-old fella that weighs 70 lbs.! However, during a recent exam, bloodwork results (May 2012) show that Alf's liver is compromised, not surprisingly at his age. He is now on Milk Thistle but so far he's doing well, eating well, and enjoys being outside, although you can see some stiffness in his back legs. He also has had some urine incontenency but seems to be better lately. Please see our Home Page if you're interested in becoming a much-needed sponsor for Alf.
