LCAS Policy on Adopting Staffordshire Terriers (Pitbulls) or any
Our adoption policy for Staffordshire Terriers is designed to ensure
permanent, loving and safe homes. While the history of the breed
includes using the animal for "baiting" or "fighting", the dogs today
can be admired for their strength, loyalty and impressive physical
appearance. Their successful placement is dependent upon the provision
of proper training and socialization. To be considered for the adoption
process, you MUST:
1. Be at least 25 years old.
2. Have a 6' (minimum) fenced yard. The fence must be made of
suitable material and in good repair for containing the animal and preventing escape.
3. Not have any children less than 12 years of age living in the home.
4. Agree to "At-Will" checks from the Lyon County Animal Services
